Marc
has always had a love for technology, it all
started when he first began "playing" on a ZX
Spectrum in 1982. Then in 1994 he "discovered"
the Internet and was instantly hooked!
Marc started writing databases and
creating websites for local companies but it
was in August 1995 that things really
started to change for Marc, for Microsoft
started to ship the Windows 95 operating
system!
It was whilst helping others try and
understand this new operating system that
Marc realised there was a potential market
for publishing "self help" articles on the
Internet for all to access....
By the time Microsoft released Windows XP in
2001 home users were starting to connect to the
Internet in large numbers and so Marc decided to
create a website dedicated to helping others
understand how to use Windows XP. In 2003
Microsoft had spotted his work supporting the
online community in forums and via his website
and newsletter. This recognition of his
technical knowledge and willingness to help
others led to him being awarded their
Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award,
which he has gone on to be re-awarded every year
since!
Marc gave up his full time job as an IT
manager in the summer of 2004 and has worked
full time ever since supporting the online
community in getting the most out of their
Microsoft products and services. Marc achieves
this via a growing portfolio of websites that he
maintains.
In June 2007 Marc merged his
popular email newsletters into a single
publication that aims to help users of Windows
Vista, Windows XP and Microsoft Office. (See the
top of the page for the link).
As well as Windows Vista/XP Marc is also an
expert in Digital Media and the creator of the
very popular Windows XP utility -
SHERLOCK The CODEC Detective. If, after
all this he has any spare time, he likes to play
HALO 2 on the Microsoft XBOX 360...
Sarah
Liron - Marc is married to Sarah.
They first met at their local church youth group
but their friendship started to grow a few years
later when Sarah was at University completing
her Physics degree.
They married 5 years later and Sarah has been
a long suffering "geeks" wife ever since!
She enjoys using technology, even has her own
office at home, but she has no intention of
becoming a geek herself... Instead she manages
Marc's business and generally stops him spending
too much time at Starbucks or on his 360! When
not doing this she can be found 2 days a week
volunteering (policy, strategy event management
etc...) in the office of the
church that they both belong to.
They
live in the historic town of Lincoln, in the UK.
In the summer of 2006 they bought a beautiful
house and from there they both live and work.
